Sea-Safe
is committed to the safe operation
of its managed fleet and to achieve
this objective the Safety and Quality
Department is an independent specialist
function. In this way, commercial
pressures can be avoided and Sea-Safe
can continue to maintain and develop
the highest possible standards of
safety and environmental protection
throughout the managed fleet. Our
aim is to present the vessels under
our management acceptable to all major
Shipping companies, to provide the
best possible service and be a reliable
sparring partner to our shipowners
and vessels. The Safety and Quality
Department comprises a Manager, Safety
Superintendents, a Document Controller
and a Quality Management Representative.
A number of the staff are qualified
internal auditors experienced in performing
shipboard and office internal audits
to ensure continued compliance with
the ISM & ISPS Code. The Safety
and Quality Manager, who heads the
department, is the Designated Person
Ashore in accordance with the ISM
& ISPS code and reports directly
to the Managing Director. Safety Superintendents
monitor compliance with the Safety
and Quality Management System within
Sea Safe. They are responsible for
carrying out ships’ inspections and
internal audits in accordance with
the ISM & ISPS code, and conducting
training sessions both ashore and
on-board.
We
are in close contact to all the Shipping
companies vetting departments, national
authorities and international organizations
in shipping matters. We are keeping
our ship owners and vessel updated
with all new industrial standards,
such as new IMO rules, national and
international requirements and any
requirements from the shipping companies.
